The film series has been running at the Frigiliana festival of 3 Cultures since the first year. |

| La casa del Apero is the setting for the screening of films that bring us closer to other cultures and means of understanding their way of life. Thanks to the film series we have travelled to other countries to discover personal stories of great depth, which has brought us a closer understanding of other cultures, often very different from our own. It's another way to impart culture across the big screen. Immigration, music, love stories, all within the framework of the 3 Cultures and the Festival, within a wide field of vision, each year has brought us much closer to other ways of seeing, feeling and acting. |

A film commemorating the fourth anniversary of the expulsion, between 1609 and 1614, of three hundred thousand Spanish descendants of Muslim converts to Christianity. The story begins when John, a young history teacher, finds hidden in a cupboard at his home in Almonacid de la Sierra (Zaragoza) some ancient manuscripts. Those books seem to be written in Arabic, but after trying to read a few pages you realize they really are aljamiados texts, a form of writing in Spanish but with Arabic script. One of these books tells the story of a family of people evicted in 1609. Encouraged by his grandfather, John decides to find out more about this story and does not hesitate to request the assistance of experts in the field. |

This is the story of living music, Arab-Andalusian music, whose symphony would be the Nuba. The documentary draws a "musical tree" whose roots originate in the Emirate of Cordoba and flourishes today from Morocco to Tel Aviv. The symphony of the music will grow in the chorus of the caliphs of al-Andalus, is included in Medieval Spain, in Alfonso X el Sabio and will be broadcast in the compositions of troubadours and poets. With the decline of al-Andalus, across the Mediterranean the Maghreb spreads and currently lives in the Ala Morocco. The Nuba is the musical movement that is broadcasted and recreated in the orchestras and groups from places like Fez, Tangier, Tetouan and Chefchauouen. |
